We are a specialist transport company looking for an experienced HGV 1 Driver to join us. It’s your chance to enjoy great rewards and be part of a fantastic team delivering cargo across the UK.

We have a growing modern fleet of state of the art trucks. Our specialist drivers carry a wide variety of loads for the energy sector, foodstuffs, abnormal loads and general cargo, ensuring a consistent high quality service and working to our mantra of “where there’s a will, there’s a way”

GIF Transport is based in Dyce, Aberdeen.

What you’ll get up to as an HGV Driver: 

  • Our HGV Drivers deliver across the country. If you’re keen to travel further, we may offer you opportunities to deliver into northern Europe as well.
  • You will carry a wide variety of loads for the energy sector, foodstuffs, abnormal loads and general cargo – no two days are the same.
  • You’ll make safety your number one priority, adhere to road and tachograph regulations, be professional and friendly with customers.
  • We operate a high quality fleet. Modern and well-maintained, they offer the latest in driver safety and comfort.
  • Subject to your experience, you will work with standard flat and curtain sided trailers. As you gain more experience you will learn to use other specialist equipment.

What we look for in our HGV Drivers

  • A valid Class 1 HGV licence & CPC
  • ADR preferable, but not essential
  • Ready to take the initiative and work as part of a team
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service

GIF Transport was established in 2015 and provides a 24/7 road haulage service. In August 2025, GIF Transport became part of the Williams Shipping Group. Established in 1894, Williams Shipping is a family-run marine and logistics business, working for a broad range of customers in industries including shipping, marine, energy, defence and construction. The logistics arm of the business specialises in transporting abnormal, out of gauge & heavy loads, operating across the UK and into Europe.

What we offer our HGV Drivers

  • Competitive salary
  • Your normal working hours will be 0800 – 1700 Monday to Friday. Additional hours will be paid at a higher hourly rate.
  • Some weekend working is required. This will be paid on a higher hourly rate
  • Some nights out are required
