We are seeking an organised, proactive, and customer-focused Key Account Manager to help lead and support our internal sales operations.
Role Overview
The Key Account Manager plays a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the sales department. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role involves managing inbound and outbound enquiries, handling sales administration, nurturing key accounts, and coordinating order fulfilment from quotation through to delivery. You will also help oversee stock levels, assist with procurement, and contribute to maintaining high service standards across the customer journey.
Core Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and nurture key customer relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for trade partners and high-value accounts.
- Manage customer enquiries via telephone and email—qualifying leads, providing information on product availability, and offering tailored advice based on customer needs.
- Support the Sales Manager with procurement and purchasing by tracking stock needs and helping place replenishment orders.
- Prepare and process orders, including quotations, order acknowledgements, proforma invoices, payment collection, and issuing sales invoices.
- Handle customer concerns promptly and professionally – resolving issues through to completion and maintaining a high standard of after-sales care.
- Oversee stock availability and inventory tracking across multiple UK storage depots, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Coordinate container deliveries by liaising with internal depot teams and third-party hauliers, ensuring delivery schedules are met and service KPIs are maintained.
- Assist with customs clearance and VAT processing for incoming international shipments.
- Support sales reporting, stock reports, and team collaboration through regular communication with sales executives and administrators.
Required Skills & Experience
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, especially when managing data, stock, and delivery schedules.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage and grow key accounts.
- Customer-focused with experience resolving service issues in a calm and professional manner.
- Good understanding of supply chain coordination and stock control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with customs, VAT, or international delivery processes is an advantage.
