Case Studies

Working closely with Supreme Freight, we provide a comprehensive logistics service for receiving and moving sea freight.

Goods typically arrive into Southampton docks in containers from China, and with our logistics base adjacent to Dock Gate 20 with easy motorway access, we are ideally located for receiving these goods.

Our team empty the containers of pallets, a process known as devanning. All pallets are checked and sorted for onward delivery. Photos are taken of all goods as they arrive in our yard so that we can check and ensure everything tallies up with the paperwork. On a 40′ container there can be up to 20 pallets, where as 20′ containers typically hold 8-14, depending on the size of the pallets. In some cases, items are loose and need palletising.

Our bonded warehouse allows Supreme Freight to be confident their goods are in secure storage until customs clearance has been provided and the goods are fit for release.

We are able to provide an end-to-end service for Supreme Freight, delivering the goods once they have been cleared from customs using our curtain-sider lorries.

Oceanside, a subsidiary of Supreme Freight, deal with both air and sea freight. We often receive loose items in smaller volume which are checked, counted, split and palletised for onward travel by our warehouse team. Goods usually stay in our bonded warehouse for a shorter period of time, often moving on the same day.

We have seen a wide range of goods coming into our bonded warehouse, from batteries and handbags to snooker tables and fitness equipment. These are mainly for Amazon resale and distribution, but can also be for the leisure & hospitality sectors.
