Quality Policy
We aim to develop and maintain an effective and efficient service that satisfies the needs of every customer in a timely and cost effective manner. This is achieved by consistently conforming to agreed requirements, policies and procedures.
It is our policy to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all employees and relevant information, training and supervision as may be needed. In doing so we endeavour to meet our customers’ expectations and where possible, respond to unplanned requirements as quickly as possible.
The SHEQ Manual highlights the Quality System in operation at Williams Shipping Holdings Limited and subsidiaries. Explaining the way in which the system is operated defining those employees responsible for the performance of quality related tasks within our company. The quality system is the means by which we support our policy of providing a high quality service in accordance with all relevant standards and customer requirements, providing our products and services on time.
It is our company policy to review the suitability of the quality system to ensure it reflects current operations, and where necessary to implement additional charges. We are further committed to meeting the requirements of ISO9001:2015 and continuously review opportunities to improve systems and operations to ensure that there are continual improvements.
Environmental Policy
As a multi-disciplined organisation we are extremely environmentally conscious and recognise the impact of our operations on the environment and therefore strive to achieve high standards of environmental performance. We commit ourselves to continual environmental improvement and priority is given to preventing and reducing pollution, emissions and waste to their lowest practicable levels. Promoting and maintaining correct waste collection, disposal and recycling arrangements across our operations.
To assist in achieving these objectives we have implemented and maintain a documented Integrated Management System. This has introduced procedures that will set achieve and review our measurable environmental objectives. We fully comply with the requirements of statutory legislation and approved guidance. This also takes into consideration legislation produced and enforced by the Maritime Coastguard Agency.
All employees are provided with the necessary resources, equipment, instruction and training to carrying out their duties with concern for the environment. Communicated to all staff and sub-contractors through materials, inductions and training. All sub-contractors are expected to comply with our policy and co-operate fully with all company arrangements for the protection of the environment.
All environmental incidents at any location are fully reported, investigated and submitted to the board of directors following the correct procedure for appropriate action to be taken.
The Directors here at Williams Shipping Holding Ltd and subsidiary companies have overall responsibility for all environmental matters and are committed to meeting the requirements of ISO14001:2015. We will continue to review opportunities to improve systems and operations to ensure that there is continual improvement.
Health and Safety Policy
This revision of our ‘Health & Safety Policy’ follows the requirements of the 1999 Management of Health and Safety Regulations & 1992 Workplace Health Safety & Welfare Regulations. These and other existing Health & Safety regulations within the 1974 Act require the identification, assessment and control of risks, we fully comply with the duties placed upon it within the requirements of all relevant statutory legislation and approved guidance.
We are therefore fully committed to the prevention of injury and ill health and to continually improving health and safety management and performance. Accepting responsibilities to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all employees whilst at work. Health and Safety will be given equal priority with other corporate business issues.
Our Health and Safety objectives are as follows:
- To provide the framework for developing a safety culture within the company including adequate financial resources. Including information, instruction & training, adequate supervision, safe working environments, safe systems of work, safe access & egress to work areas, carrying out suitable risk assessments and consultation with employees.
- To specify management / supervisor and employee responsibilities which include safety responsibilities to themselves and to others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. To co-operate with their employer in complying with their statutory duties Sec.7 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act. And to take necessary steps to ensure that all risks are adequately controlled ‘so far as is reasonably practicable’.
- To secure the co-operation of clients, suppliers, contractors and the involvement of all employees in achieving safe working environments incorporating safe systems of work leading to control of potential accidents and protection of the environment.
Our employees must also refer to the appropriate company health and safety and operational information relating to their work activities. This information is contained in the employee handbook.
We are committed to meeting the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 and will continue to review opportunities to improve systems and operations to ensure that there is continual improvement. Policy amendments will be communicated to all employees and sub-contractors.
