WELCOMING RICHARD BROOKS TO THE MAIN BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Williams Shipping, a fifth-generation family-run business with over 130 years of experience in the marine and logistics sectors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Brooks, Marine Operations Director to the Main (Group) Board.

Known for his extensive expertise, commitment to operational excellence, and dedication to team welfare, Richard has played a key role in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of marine projects across the country. His promotion is a recognition of his consistent contribution to the growth and success of the marine division.

Richard is also a prominent figure in the wider maritime industry, serving as Chairman of the Workboat Association since 2020, further highlighting his active engagement in shaping safety, technical and best practice standards across the industry.

 

Richard, who has more than 25 years of experience in the marine industry and has served in the Royal Naval Reserve throughout his career, commented:

“Williams Shipping is committed to operating one of the most modern and capable fleets in the sector. To deliver exceptional service to our clients, we invest not only in maintaining our assets to the highest standards but also in strategically renewing our fleet with vessels that offer advanced capabilities and greater operational efficiency.”

Philip Williams, Managing Director (Marine), supported Richard’s comment by adding:

This promotion is well deserved; the marine business continues to develop under his guidance and leadership. Richard’s new role marks a significant milestone in his long-standing career with Williams Shipping and his experience will be hugely beneficial to the wider group strategy and direction.”

Richard continued:

“As Marine Operations Director I continue to be passionate about advancing the marine sector, both within our business and across the wider industry.  I drive to further develop our marine operations and to champion apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring we nurture the next generation of skilled marine professionals.  With this new promotion I look forward to contributing across all the Group businesses”
