Looking Ahead to Seawork 2027 Following Richard Brooks’ Maritime Professional of the Year Award
With autumn now underway, it’s a good opportunity to look back on Seawork 2026 and reflect on another successful event that brought together colleagues, customers and partners from across the maritime sector. One moment that stands out for everyone at Williams Shipping was the announcement that our Marine Operations Director, Richard Brooks FICS FNI, had been named Maritime Professional of the Year at the 2026 Seawork Awards.
Presented during the Seawork Awards ceremony, the award honours Richard’s outstanding contribution to the workboat sector, his tireless advocacy for training and safety, and his exceptional leadership of the Workboat Association. The accolade reflects the respect Richard has earned from colleagues across the industry throughout his career.
Commenting on the award, Philip Williams, Managing Director of Williams Shipping Marine, said:
“This recognition is thoroughly deserved. Richard has played a key role in the success of Williams Shipping over many years, and his contribution extends far beyond our business. We are incredibly grateful for everything he has done, and continues to do, and we’re delighted to see his commitment and leadership acknowledged by his peers.”
The Seawork Awards celebrate the people and organisations that help shape the commercial marine industry. Held during Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition, the awards celebrate those whose commitment, innovation and professionalism continue to strengthen the sector.
For Williams Shipping, Seawork has long been an important fixture in the calendar. Having exhibited at the event for almost three decades, it continues to provide an opportunity to reconnect with the maritime community. With Williams Shipping already booked to exhibit at Seawork 2027, we look forward to returning next year.
Everyone at Williams Shipping congratulates Richard on this well-deserved achievement and looks forward to supporting his continued contribution to both our business and the wider maritime industry.
